Creamy Macaroni & Cheese

  1. Bring 2 quarts of water to a boil
  2. Add alt and pasta
  3. Cook to al dente
  4. Drain
  5. Pour onto a large lipped baking sheet to cool while prepping sauce
  6. Microwave the milk & chicken broth in a 4-cup Pyrex measuring cup or bowl until hot and steaming (not boiling)
  7. Melt butter in the empty pasta pot
  8. Whisk in flour
  9. Whisk in hot milk mixture
  10. Whisk until thick & bubbly
  11. Stir in cheddar
  12. Add pasta and stir
  13. Heat through
  14. Add water if too thick
